Happy New Year! It’s that time when many of us state a New Year’s resolution that we will try to complete in the year to come. It’s been proven time and time again that sticking with these isn’t easy. It’s incredibly easy to get distracted, become lazy, get annoyed, or just give up. Here are some great tips to help you keep your New Year’s Resolution!
Set goals – setting daily, weekly, or monthly goals will help you stay organized and dedicated to your resolution
Pick and focus on one resolution – when you focus on working with one resolution, you’ll be able to put more time into it and really stick to it instead of trying to juggle multiple resolutions
Be realistic – make sure your new year’s resolution is attainable, don’t stretch yourself too thin, you know what you’re capable of
Receive support from family, friends, and colleagues – inform your loved ones on what you are trying to accomplish and ask them for their support
Self incentivizing – give yourself rewards when you reach your short term goals, these rewards should help and push you to continue working at your long-term, end goal
Tag team with a friend or family member – getting someone to work with would benefit you and add some support, you can both motivate each other and keep each other in check
Be patient – nothing happens over night, be patient when it comes to progress, everything will show in time
Don’t repeat same mistakes – learn from any mistakes you’ve made in the past, make sure not to repeat anything that has kept from your goals before
Record your journey – keep a journal or take photographs to keep track on how you’re doing, you’ll see if you’ve made any progress or if you need to improve on something
Happy New Year and good luck everyone!
